Client profile

M Cosmetic is an Uzbekistan-based retail chain specializing in beauty, family, and home products sold through convenience stores akin to the «drugstore» format.
M Cosmetic stores offer over 8,000 product lines, including cosmetics, fragrances, household items, and baby care products. The typical store size ranges from 60 to 230 square meters. The retailer’s main supply chain consists of over 85 distributors from Uzbekistan. With approximately 25% of these suppliers being local manufacturers.

The first M Cosmetic store opened in Tashkent in 2022. Over the next two years, the company rapidly expanded its presence, launching stores in Samarkand, Andijan, Fergana, and other cities across the country. M Cosmetic’s concept in Uzbekistan is modeled after the best practices of Magnit Cosmetic, Russia’s largest drugstore chain with over 7,000 locations.

The hundredth M Cosmetic store opened its doors in Uzbekistan’s capital on May 31, 2024. The retail chain is actively investing in IT development to streamline its logistics cycle and meet increasing consumer demand. Recently, M Cosmetic transitioned to a new 3PL provider and integrated its information systems with the IT infrastructure of the new warehouse.

M Cosmetic’s retail network relies on a sophisticated IT infrastructure that supports both internal and external services. Internal systems include databases, 1C software, firewalls, a ticketing system, and monitoring tools like Zabbix and Grafana. External services encompass the loyalty program and mobile application. Furthermore, the company regularly develops proprietary IT solutions for internal use.

To maintain reliable service operations and facilitate in-house software development,
M Cosmetic requires a resilient cloud IT infrastructure that can easily scale resources.

Why M Cosmetic chose Servercore

When launching operations in Uzbekistan, M Cosmetic decided to fully deploy its services on leased cloud IT infrastructure. This made the provider selection process particularly rigorous. The company sought high-performance cloud servers capable of handling the heavy workloads of retail services while offering easy scalability when needed.

During the tender process, the M Cosmetic team evaluated providers based on the following criteria:

Component 20
high cloud server reliability with an SLA of at least 99.98%,
a5
full compliance of IT infrastructure with local personal data storage and processing regulations,
a3
flexible and cost-effective cloud service billing terms, including a pay-as-you-go model,
a2
PCI DSS certification, ensuring secure storage of customer payment card data,
Group 1321316176
round-the-clock access to skilled technical support.

«When starting our business in Uzbekistan, choosing the right cloud provider was crucial, as we didn’t plan to invest in our own servers. Servercore and its solutions underwent rigorous vetting to ensure they aligned with our corporate IT infrastructure standards. They met our expectations, paving the way for our collaborative project».

Client's main objectives

The cloud servers needed to be both scalable and adaptable. This was essential for keeping pace with the company’s rapid business growth in Uzbekistan. Additionally, maximizing IT infrastructure resilience was a priority to prevent any interruptions in service and application operations.
Given that M Cosmetic handles sensitive data storage and processing, it was imperative to partner with a provider whose facilities were physically located in Uzbekistan. Furthermore, the IT service provider’s data centers needed to be PCI DSS compliant to securely store customers payment card information.
The company sought providers offering user-friendly billing systems and multi-currency payment options, including Uzbekistani som. They also required competitive pricing to reduce IT equipment maintenance costs and allow server rental payments based on resource consumption.
