Air Samarkand is a private Uzbek airline based at Samarkand International Airport. Founded in 2022, the airline began operating charter flights for companies and tour operators in 2023. The carrier launched a scheduled regular flight program in March 2024.
In 2024, the airline plans to significantly expand its route network and fleet, operating flights to Turkey, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, South Korea, the UAE, and CIS countries. The airline’s fleet consists of Airbus A330-300, A321, and A321neo aircraft. These are modern and reliable aircraft used by leading airlines around the world.
Air Samarkand’s IT infrastructure is mainly deployed on the company’s own equipment due to the special security requirements of the airline industry. However, for a number of critical services with high demands on solution performance, Air Samarkand chose a provider that could ensure seamless project migration to the cloud and high server uptime.
The airline’s critical services include the corporate portal — its virtual environment, databases for storing and transmitting data, and message brokers. The portal’s technical architecture is complex and is deployed on Kubernetes clusters. Also, a number of critical IT systems of Air Samarkand include a cloud storage system and microservices designed to ensure flight operations.
To maintain the uninterrupted operation of the above-listed digital services of Air Samarkand, it was important to choose a provider that could transfer projects to powerful servers without violating internal information security rules. In addition, it was required to ensure a reduction in the on-premise equipment load as a result of the migration and to delegate the administration of the corporate portal to a provider.
Faced with expanding business operations, growing amount of data, and increasing strain on its on-premises infrastructure, Air Samarkand decided to migrate a part of its IT infrastructure from its own server room to a cloud provider. The airline had stringent data security and processing requirements due to the nature of the industry. Additionally, the company’s services required architectural enhancements before migrating to cloud computing.
Air Samarkand carefully approached the selection of a cloud provider and reviewed numerous offerings available in the Uzbek market. However, few contractors met the requirements for implementing the company’s projects. As a result, the airline decided to seek recommendations from industry peers. At an IT event dedicated to cybersecurity, attendees suggested reaching out to Servercore.
«We were recommended Servercore by cybersecurity specialists from other companies who had experience working with the provider. From the very first meeting to discuss the project, we were convinced of the team’s high technical expertise. Their engineers always come up with ready-made solutions and independently deal with errors in the project’s source code. They helped us seamlessly migrate a part of our IT systems to the cloud in a short timeframe».

During the project, Air Samarkand successfully performed architectural refinement of projects and seamless migration of a part of the IT infrastructure from its own equipment to the cloud. During the migration process, Servercore’s engineers provided comprehensive support to the client, minimizing any service downtime for the airline.
The migration significantly reduced the load on the company’s on-premise solutions and ensured the uninterrupted operation of its critical services. Due to the increase in the speed and responsiveness of IT systems, the number of users of these digital services has grown by 50%. Also, according to the airline’s internal assessment, their satisfaction with using the services has increased significantly.
After delegating corporate portal administration tasks, Air Samarkand’s IT specialists were able to avoid routine technical tasks and focus on strategically important projects. At the same time, the service operates without downtime thanks to 24/7 monitoring by the Servercore team.
As Air Samarkand continues to expand its operations, adding new aircraft and opening new routes. This means that the staff will also increase, as will the load on the IT infrastructure. The airline has already experienced the high level of expertise and service reliability of Servercore and is ready to continue their collaboration on cloud-based projects.
«Any issue was promptly addressed by Servercore’s technical experts. When we faced an emergency situation, the provider’s team was able to address it, even though it wasn’t a covered SLA incident. We were able to avoid service downtime and complete the migration to the cloud platform ahead of schedule. We appreciate this approach to work.
For us, this is a unique collaboration case».
